Protection & Restoration of Mandovi River Coastline from Miramar Circle to Youth Hostel and from Kala Academy to ESG

Project highlights

The main objective of the project is to protect the costline and to restore the river bank and to open the city to river bank by developing a promenade with walkway, cycling track along the Mandovi River that will allow people to properly enjoy the beauty and connect all the previously said city amenities.
• A continuous protection wall along the coast with granite bolders protecting the coastline from erosion.
• The promenade walk way of 4.5 mtrs wide is provided with granite paver flooring along with parapet wall river side & seat outs on other side with granite cladding & 50mm thick slab over the top portion.
• Concrete cycle track of 2.8 mtrs wide is provided with side drains & electrification.
• The promenade will be continuous and will be connected to the existing roads.
• Place making providing identity to every spot along the footpath, creating easy recognizable locations. Natural islands for eating areas, selfie points, seating area along with playgrounds, skating and leisure spots will be provided.
• Street light poles and decorative illumination will be provided.
• Ramps & steps will be provided for access to the beach and existing fishing boats near Childrens park.
• The promenade will be connected to the Miramar Beach to Mahaveer Garden & DB road near ESG.
• There will be a continuous protection wall along the coast. Wherever the existing one has collapsed, it has been rebuilt, and missing walls have been built.
