Infrastructure Photography Contest Rules
Term: Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd (GSIDC) was formed on 20th February 2001 as a Special Purpose Vehicle for speedy implementation of infrastructure for the State of Goa. Since its inception the corporation has successfully completed more than 150 projects and has around 97 ongoing projects, and 87 projects in the pipeline and more projects are likely to be undertaken in the near future.
Who may enter? The contest is open to all photographers and is restricted to legal residents of India. GSIDC will determine winners’ eligibility in its sole discretion.
What to enter:
The following seven contest categories are drawn from subjects of special interest to GSIDC:

Cropped photos are eligible in all categories. We do not accept digitally or otherwise enhanced or altered photos, except for those entered in the Altered Images category. Minor adjustments, including spotting, dodging and burning, sharpening, contrast and slight colour adjustment or the digital equivalents, are acceptable for all categories. If the judges determine that a photographer has altered his or her photo, they reserve the right to disqualify the image.
Similarly, entrants whose photos depict other people’s work (such as sculptures, statues, paintings, and other copyrightable works) may be needed to obtain a release from the rights holder and provide it to the GSIDC upon request. When photographing the work of others, it must be as an object in its environment and not a full-frame close-up of another person’s creation.
It is also proposed to that winners and runner-ups will have their images printed and exhibited in exhibition organized during the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) organized by Entertainment Society of Goa. Each winner, runner-up and 30 further honorary mentions (depending on the entries received) get promoted across social media, blogs and GSIDC magazine!
Photos that contain obscene, violent or other objectionable or inappropriate content, as determined by the GSIDC in its sole discretion, are ineligible for all categories of this contest.

How to enter: All details & information about the contest will be available online through our website at www.gsidcltd.com. Each participant may submit no more than four (04) photographs per category for a contest. In order to be displayed in our online gallery without being stretched or distorted, photographs must be submitted in .jpeg, .jpg or .gif format, edited for web, and no more than 10 MB, Size – 8 * 12. GSIDC reserves the right to disqualify incomplete entries and/or contestants who are unable to submit, upon request, a high-resolution photograph of at least 300 dpi at 3,000 pixels on the longest side or an original photo negative, print or slide. Mobile photographs are exempt from this requirement, but must be submitted at their highest resolution.
High-quality scans of non-digital photographs are acceptable. Digital photographs should be taken at the highest resolution possible.
Finalists will be asked to submit an original, unedited digital file or an original negative, print or slide. Original negatives, prints or slides will be returned to finalists.
You retain your rights to your photograph; however, by entering the contest, you grant GSIDC a royalty-free, world-wide, perpetual, non-exclusive license to publicly display, distribute, reproduce and create derivative works of the entries, in whole or in part, in any media now existing or later developed, for any purpose, including, but not limited to, advertising and promotion of the magazine and its website, exhibition, and commercial products, including but not limited to GSIDC publications. Any photograph reproduced will include a photographer credit as feasible. GSIDC will not be required to pay any additional consideration or seek any additional approval in connection with such uses.
Entry deadline: The contest begins on 07th October 2016. All entries must be received through firstname.lastname@example.org by 17th October 2016. The winners will be declared through a prize distribution on 20th October 2016.
Judging: Photo entries will be judged based on creativity, quality, originality, responsiveness to the prompt and overall impact. Judging will be conducted by the emplaned jury appointed by GSIDC. Winning photographs will be announced on www.gsidcltd.com. GSIDC will notify the winner via the contact information provided at the time of entry; GSIDC may disqualify anyone who fails to respond to the notification within five business days.
Prizes: Prizes will be awarded, as follows:
First Prize: Rs. 25,000 /-
Second Prize: Rs. 20,000 /-
Third Prize: Rs. 15,000 /-
Consolation Awards (6 prizes): Rs. 5000/ –

A special Prize of Rs. 25,000 /- will be awarded to the winning entry in the category of Ariel Photography
Participation certificates will be awarded to all entries.
Online Features: GSIDC may select photos for highlight on its website or display in a publicly accessible contest archive; such selections will be made in GSIDC’s sole discretion.
Conditions of Entry: Entrants are solely responsible for their entries. Entrants may not submit materials that introduce any software viruses, worms or other programs designed to damage software, hardware or telecommunications equipment or are off-topic, partisan-political, contain advertising, personal attacks or expletives, or is otherwise abusive, threatening, unlawful, harassing, discriminatory, obscene, false, or that infringes on the rights of any third party.
GSIDC reserves the right to cancel the contest or modify these rules at its discretion. In the event of a dispute regarding the winners, GSIDC reserves the right to award or not award the prizes in its sole discretion. GSIDC reserves the right to disqualify any entrant whose entry or conduct appears in any way to: inhibit the enjoyment of others; tamper with the competition; violate these rules or other applicable law or regulation; infringe on the rights of third parties; or act in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner. Decisions of GSIDC are final and binding.
